For most of my readers Easter is all about Jesus Christ, he's suffering on the cross, and he's victory over death itself when God raised from the death. But Easter is also about Jerusalem, the city were i was born. I recommend the book: The Jerusalem Biography by Simon Montefiore for those who are more than normally interested in Jerusalem. Below is a link were the author share about his book: Just been watching "machine gun preacher"..wow!
A not so typical preacher :-) , but it made me think, and pray that my life will never become so selfish that it may be said about me: When everything was said and done, it was usually more said than done. Folks we are not saved to live in our sweet little "blessing bubbles"! If we are prosperous, it is with a purpose, and to whom much is given, much is expected. So take a look out of your two small blue, green or brown windows and do something about what you see, or you could support those who invest they're life into the field :-D) God loves you and he is with you! Visiting Cambodia Teen challenge this week with my friend Leiv Holstad from the "Marita foundation". A great ministry to young girls rescued from trafficking. We met some young girls that shared some heartbreaking and touching stories with us. like one girl that has been systematically raped by her father since she was 8 years old. Now at the age of 15 she is about to give birth to a child after her father made her pregnant :-(
WOW this week we had 605 kids in our saturday meeting at Newlife portarea christian center. we believe for 1000 kids by the end of the year!
quran. 9: 29.
Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allâh, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allâh and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islâm) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah[] with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. So if you are a jew or a christian; this i s why they attack you! And to those who say theyre god is the same as my God...hmm something is wrong here! If the music and movie industrie would be willing take a collective and campaigning stand against the use of drugs both in private and, in movies or videos intended for young audiences we may actually be able to save some extremely giftet people from an early death!
Keith went to be with the Lord on July 28th, 1982 ....on my birthday! i will always be reminded. Great speech on "going out". 7 Reasons Why You Should Never Go on a Short-Term Mission Trip
1. It will distort your perception of the world! Seeing it through the plastic lenses of our society is sufficient. They may be distorted, but you are used to them! Don’t needlessly mess yourself up. 2. You could get sick or robbed! It’s dangerous out there! Some places have a crime rate almost as high as our inner cities. 3. It will make you harder to live with! The way you view life and even your likes and dislikes are liable to change. Your friends and family probably won’t understand or appreciate your sudden changes. 4. Afterwards you will feel awkward at some of the jokes and comments you currently enjoy. They will not seem as funny when you have seen life from the other side. 5. You will experience sadness you haven’t felt before. After you see real suffering, you won’t pay much attention to your complaining about how hard you’ve got it. You are even liable to feel guilty and uncomfortable about the nice things in your house and the food on your table. Stay home and stay comfortable! 6. You might lead someone to the Lord. I know that is a laudable goal, but it tends to cause excitement and further interest in Christian Service. 7. You could feel a pull toward going overseas again—for the adventure, of course. The problem is that you could slowly, subtly get sucked into thinking about being a missionary! My advice? Stay home and stay comfortable! It is too late for me—but there is still hope for you! So keep praying for both me and yourself! A World Christian
World Christians are (in Corrie Ten Boom's phrase) "tramps for the Lord" who have left their hiding places to roam the Gap with the Savior. They are heaven's expatriates, camping where the kingdom is best served. They are earth's dispossessed, who've journeyed forth to give a dying world not only the Gospel but their own souls as well. They are members of God's global dispersion down through history and out through the nations, reaching the unreached and blessing the families of earth. |
